Moving in Country Club Plaza: What to Expect
The Country Club Plaza is Kansas City's Spanish-tiled shopping district ringed by high-rise condos and luxury apartments. A Plaza move is a building move, so it lives on the certificate of insurance, the reserved loading dock, and the freight-elevator window, and we lock all three in with building management before your date.
What to square away before a Country Club Plaza move
- Buildings require a certificate of insurance filed ahead
- Loading docks and freight elevators book to a set time window
- Valet drives and tight garages limit where a truck can sit
Typical Country Club Plaza move cost
| Home size | Crew | Est. time | Starts at* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1-bedroom | 2 movers + truck | 2–4 hrs | $270 |
| 2-bedroom home | 3 movers + truck | 4–6 hrs | $720 |
| 3-bedroom home | 4 movers + truck | 6–8 hrs | $1,380 |
| 4-bedroom / large | 4–5 movers | 8+ hrs | Custom quote |
Three ways to keep the day short
- Send your building's move rules and COI request up front
- Book the freight elevator and dock window early
- Point out a condo on a high floor so we plan the elevator
Three Steps to Moving Day
From that opening hello to the last box carried in and set down in its proper room.
Tell Us About the Move
Tell us about the move over the phone, on a quick video call, or straight through the form. What comes back is a flat price in writing, never a squishy figure that swells once the truck is loaded.
Lock In Your Date
Pick your day and we match the right crew and truck to it, then sort the loading-zone permit, the building certificate of insurance, or the freight-elevator booking your move needs.
We Carry the Load
One lead owns the whole job, wrap, load, drive, and placement, with our own Kansas City crew, and we plan the run around I-70, I-35, and the I-435 loop to keep the day on time.
Moving Services in Country Club Plaza
From the very first phone call to the last box, our own people handle the entire move, with nothing passed to a broker along the way.
Long-Distance Moving

Your Move, Fully Covered
Covered from the first blanket we throw over your things to the last box carried up to the second floor.
Fully Insured
Every job carries cargo and liability coverage, and we go over your valuation choices with you before you put pen to paper.
Loft & Walk-Up Ready
Freight-elevator bookings and building certificates of insurance for the Plaza and Crossroads lofts, plus cramped Brookside stairwells and tight Westport walk-ups, we scout the carry and the parking so a loft or third-floor move never stalls at the door.
Padded & Wrapped
Every piece gets blanketed, shrink-wrapped, and firmly strapped down. If something does take a knock, we call it out on the spot and set it right.
Done Right
An honest price, a crew that truly cares about the work, and no one clocks out until every last piece is exactly where you want it.
We Know Country Club Plaza
We file the certificate of insurance, book the dock and freight elevator, and pad the cab and corridors before your date, so a Plaza high-rise move runs right on schedule. One lead stays with your job from the first knock to the last box, and the flat price is in your hands before a thing gets loaded.

I hardly ever write reviews, but our experience with 2 Dudes and a Truck was so wonderful that I'll take the time to write a great review! We were scheduling a last minute move and got in touch with these guys two days prior to the move. They originally said their next availability was Monday but we needed to move Saturday, and they said they would let us know if there was a cancellation. Further into our conversation, they offered to come at 7am on Saturday to fit us in prior to their other appointments for the day. The scheduling process was very efficient thanks to their responsiveness. Come move day, they showed up punctually and ready to work. The move out was easy but the move into the new apartment presented some challenges. The elevator in the new building broke down the day before. These guys moved everything up a flight of stairs with absolutely no complaints, even though they expected to have an elevator. They ended up moving more furniture than we originally requested, had to use stairs instead of the elevator, and the final price still remained within the range they quoted us! Not to mention the quote was by far the most reasonable in the KC area. These young men were polite, professional, and very hardworking. I would love to hire them again for our next move!
The Dudes saved the day after another local company didn't show up. The folks in the office got us a crew same day. Elijah and Anthony were so professional, moved quickly, and took great care loading and unloading. We were beyond impressed and would use these guys again!
Our team, Guerry, Marcus, and Justin, did in a few hours what would have taken my wife and me a few weekends. Money well spent. They even worked with us when the storage unit's elevators weren't running. Will definitely use these guys again.

Questions We Hear a Lot
Do you handle Country Club Plaza high-rises?
Yes, all the time. We file the building COI, reserve the loading dock and freight elevator, and run the whole job on our flat hourly with a written estimate. When the move leaves the metro, we price it on weight and mileage instead.
Are you licensed and insured?
We are. 2 Dudes And A Truck holds Missouri and Kansas household-goods authority and full insurance, and your job rides with our own crew from start to finish, with no broker sneaking in to take a cut. We are happy to go over the authority numbers and coverage with you, and we will talk through your valuation options before anything is set.
Can you take on a loft or condo move that requires a building COI?
Yes, we do these constantly. Plaza condos and the loft conversions in the Crossroads and River Market want a certificate of insurance on file and the freight elevator held for a fixed window. We send the COI over to building management, lock the elevator, pad the cab and corridors, and wrap up inside your booked slot so the dock frees up on time.
My Brookside bungalow has a tight, steep staircase. Is that a problem?
That is right in our wheelhouse. The old brick houses across Brookside, Waldo, and Hyde Park come with steep original staircases, pinched doorways, and low basement headroom. We read every turn, pad the jambs and railings, and hoist or hand-carry anything that will not round the corner, just as we have done since 2015.
Will you handle the packing?
However much you would like. Need the whole house boxed? Consider it done. Only the kitchen and the artwork? That works too. We show up with heavy-duty cartons and paper, label every box by room, and once the truck is empty we will unpack you at the new place.
Will you take on pianos, gun safes, and pool tables?
Yes, and our crew moves them week in and week out. Upright or grand, a loaded gun safe, a slate pool table, a family heirloom, or a framed canvas, each one rides the right board or dolly under proper straps and pads, and we build a custom crate whenever a piece calls for one.
Can I move or cancel my date?
Of course. Give us at least two days’ notice to reschedule or cancel and your full deposit comes right back. Every term is spelled out in plain words on your booking, so nothing is left to guesswork.
